Today, (March 27, 2010) set out 8 sets of trials in bottomland woods along the Patuxent River behind my house at 102 Queen Anne Bridge Road, Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

A trial consists of sliced off styrofoam 16 ounce cups fit into holders made of rings of 3" pvc pipe screwed to gray plastic conduit and pounded into the ground so the cup is resting on the ground. Two of these were set one foot apart in a patch of Claytonia diagonal to these and therefore making a foot by foot square were two 3.25 ounce white solo bowls that we traditionally used. One solo bowl and one styrofoam cup were filled with red rv glycol mixed with soap and the others with soapy water with dawn dish washing liquid. Sunny, 50's.
